D & B GARDEN RAILROAD OF SUNNYVALE, CA.
The HISTORY OF D & B GARDEN RAILROAD
TRACK LAYOUT
This railroad is a G gauge railroad with one scale mile figure 8 type loop with a loop off of the main line throuth the town of Junction City it then continues onto a 720 scale foot trestle round the mountian back to the main line. A number of sidings, a small yard and 2 passing sidings on the mainline. There is a point to point line that runs from the town of Junction Ciy around a mountian across a tall trestle to another mountian where there is a hotel for a total of about 550' of track.
WATER FEATURE
Two Gull Lake is about 15' in diameter and is fed by the North fork and the South fork of the Big Pine river. There is a water fall on the west side of the lake. There is the town of Junction City which is east of Two Gull Lake. The Junction City railroad yard is south of town and is parallel to the South Fork of Big Pine river.
ROLLING STOCK
There are currently Nine engines operating on the D & B Garden Railroad with 5 passenger cars and about 20 freight cars. There is a Railtruck taking supplies from town to hotel construction site. When the hotel is finished there will be a railbus to carry passengers back and forth to the hotel. There is an old engine in the park in Junction City for the children to play on. There is a hand car for track work.
Motive Power
First engine is an LGB 2-6-0 Denver and Rio Grande #1209 pulling passenger service.
Second engine is an LGB 0-4-0 Lake George and Boulder #1206 pulling passenger service.
Third engine is an Aristo Craft FA-1 Southern Pacific #2004 pulling freight service.
Fourth engine is an Aristo Craft FB-1 Southern Pacific
Fifth engine is an Aristo Craft 0-4-0 Southern Pacific #2005 static in the park.
Sixth engine is an USA Trains 20 tonner switcher Southern Pacific #8 .
Seventh engine is an Bachman Climax.
Eighth engine is a USA Trains GP9 pulling freight.
Nineth engine is a Bachman 4-6-0 Denver Rio Grande Pulling Passenger Service.
Tenth engine is a Bachman 4-6-0 New Jersey Central pulling Passenger Service.
Eleventh engine is a Usa Trains GP38 Pulling freight.
Tweleth engine is a Bachman Shay pulling logging disconects from the loading area to the saw mill.
